The Beatles also joined in the big concert. Paul McCartney to help open the 2012 London Olympics. Sunday, John Lennon helped shut it down.

John Lennon became part of the Olympic closing ceremony Sunday in spirit and song. The choir sang "Imagine," followed by Lennon himself singing the song from the video. Lennon is seen as a way the song ends.

It was a heartfelt performance of Lennon.

Russell Brand adds a touch of The Beatles to the closing ceremony, singing "I Am the Walrus."

Also nearby are shown during the reunion with the Who and the Spice Girls, plus appearances by One Way, Annie Lennox, Ray Davies, George Michael and Queen guitarist Brian May.

McCartney performed at the opening ceremony July 27, sang "The End" and "Hey Jude."
